Luna County 4-H Sportsman’s Banquet Set for February 28

DEMING – The Luna County 4-H Sportsman’s Banquet is just days away, with organizers preparing for an evening of fundraising, community fellowship and outdoor-themed excitement. The annual event is scheduled for Friday, February 28, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at the Mimbres Valley Learning Center. Doors open at 5:30 p.m.

Hosted by NMSU Luna County Extension and 4-H, the banquet helps raise funds to support local 4-H Shooting Sports youth programs. Organizers say proceeds benefit equipment, training and opportunities for young participants involved in shooting sports education throughout Luna County.

The evening will feature raffles, auctions and prize drawings. Grand prize packages include firearms, ammunition and outdoor gear, along with other sporting and recreational items. Sponsorship levels are available at gold, silver and bronze tiers, offering supporters an opportunity to contribute while receiving recognition at the event.

In addition to the fundraising activities, guests can expect an entertaining atmosphere. KDEM’s John Krehbiel will be providing the music for the evening, helping keep the event lively as attendees participate in raffles and visit with fellow supporters.

Organizers encourage community members to attend and support Luna County’s 4-H youth. Tickets and sponsorship information are available through the Luna County Extension office.
