Early College High School Opens Applications for Fall 2026 Class

DEMING – Deming Public Schools is now accepting applications for students interested in joining the Early College High School program for the 2026–2027 school year, offering incoming ninth graders the opportunity to earn college credits while completing their high school education.

The Early College High School will accept 60 ninth-grade students into the program, which is designed to provide a more challenging academic environment in a smaller school setting. Students complete their required high school coursework during their first two years, then transition into college-level classes during their junior and senior years with the goal of graduating with a head start on college and an associate degree.

School officials say the program remains open to any student who shows a strong interest in academics and is willing to meet the program’s expectations. Transportation and meals are provided at no cost, and students are still able to participate in typical high school activities, including sports, clubs, dances, and other extracurricular programs.

The Early College High School is preparing to graduate its fourth group of students and has been recognized as a Spotlight School by the New Mexico Education Department due to student achievement and academic performance.

Applications must be submitted by Monday, April 15. Officials will also host a parent informational meeting at Early College High School, 720 West Buckeye Street, on Thursday, March 26, at 5:30 p.m. for families who want to learn more about the program and enrollment process.

School leaders encourage parents and students to attend the meeting to explore how the Early College High School experience can help prepare students for future academic and career opportunities.
