Natalie Orquiz Pacheco, 77, a lifelong resident of Deming, NM went to be with the Lord on Friday, March 20, 2026 at her residence with her family by her bedside.
Natalie was born on March 24, 1948 in Deming, NM to Manuel Orquiz and Rosa Perez.
Today we come together to celebrate the life of Natalie Pacheco, a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend, and faithful servant of God. While it is never easy to say goodbye, we can be thankful for the many years we were blessed to have her with us and for the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
Natalie was a woman of strong faith. She was a devoted member of New Life Apostolic Church, where she was baptized at the age of 12. Her faith stayed with her throughout her life and guided the way she lived. She didn’t just attend church — she served faithfully, holding positions on the Ladies Auxiliary board and always being willing to help wherever she was needed. Her church family meant so much to her, and she meant so much to them.
She was also a dedicated public servant. Natalie worked at the Luna County Courthouse for over 30 years. She began her career as a recorder, worked her way up to deputy clerk, and later was elected as County Clerk. She took pride in her work and in serving the people of Luna County. Her dedication, hard work, and kindness made a lasting impact on everyone she worked with.
Outside of work, Natalie’s greatest joy was her family. She loved spending time together, especially on the yearly camping trips to Big Lake, Arizona. Those trips were filled with laughter, stories, and memories that her family will carry forever. She loved those moments when everyone was together, and she made sure those times were special.
Natalie also showed her love through cooking. Anyone who knew her knew how much she enjoyed feeding the people she loved. Her potato salad, her red chili and meat dishes were favorites that brought everyone to the table. Cooking was her way of caring for others, and every meal she made came with love.
Natalie will be remembered as a woman who was faithful, hardworking, loving, and strong. She was someone who took care of her family, served her church, and gave her time to her community. Her life was full of purpose, and her memory will live on in the stories we tell, the traditions we keep, and the love she left behind.
Natalie is survived by her husband of 54 years, Freddie Soliz Pacheco of the family home; two sons, Alfred Pacheco and his wife Cindy of Deming, NM; and Raymond Pacheco and his wife Claudia of Woodland, CA; three brothers, Manny Orquiz of Deming, NM; David Orquiz and his companion Anna Avila of Phoenix, AZ and Mikel Orquiz of Deming, NM; two sisters, Mary Ramirez and her husband Jose of Deming, NM and Delilah Rojo and her husband Ramon of Deming, NM; six grandchildren, Gabrielle, Valerie, Laylani, Camila, Raymond Daniel. and Isaiah Pacheco.
