DEMING – The Deming Arts Council is inviting local artists of all ages to help shape the visual identity of next year’s Luna County Old West Heritage Days by participating in a community poster contest for the 2027 celebration.
The winning design will become the official promotional poster for Heritage Days 2027, scheduled to take place May 14 through May 16, 2027. Organizers say the contest offers a unique opportunity for artists to showcase their creativity while contributing to one of Deming’s most recognizable annual traditions.
Entries must feature an Old West theme and clearly include the official event title, “Luna County Old West Heritage Days,” along with the 2027 event dates. Artwork must be original and may be created using any medium, including painting, drawing, digital design, or mixed media.
Contest organizers emphasize that submissions are being collected now because the selected poster will be used throughout the coming year to promote the 2027 festivities, including advertising, programs, and community outreach materials.
All entries must be submitted by May 15, 2026, and should be delivered to the Deming Arts Center, located at 100 South Gold Avenue in Deming.
A prize will be awarded to the winning artist, and the selected design will be prominently featured as the official poster representing the 2027 Luna County Old West Heritage Days celebration.
