DEMING – Western New Mexico State University will dedicate the new John Arthur and Janette Smith Educational Center on Friday, May 24th. The facility, located at 1360 West Florida Street, will be unveiled in a ceremony starting at 11 a.m.
The over 8,000 square foot center is designed to enhance the University’s health program offerings, including nursing, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, and certified nursing assistant programs. The state-of-the-art facility is named in honor of former New Mexico State Senator John Arthur Smith and his wife Janette Smith. Senator Smith was instrumental in securing the necessary funds to improve educational opportunities for residents of Luna County.
The public is invited to attend the dedication event and tour the new center, which promises to significantly boost local educational resources and opportunities.
