DEMING – The city of Deming and the Deming Police Department are proud to welcome Jared Trevizo as their newest police officer. Officer Trevizo was officially sworn in on June 17, 2024, by Interim Police Chief Jose (Pepe) Montoya.
Officer Trevizo is scheduled to attend the next available session of the New Mexico Law Enforcement Academy in February 2025. At the academy, he will undergo comprehensive training, including:
- Control of Police-Related Instruction: Learning crucial criminal justice doctrines.
- Hands-On Training: Developing the ability to apply knowledge, make quick decisions, and handle high-risk situations.
The Law Enforcement Training Program is a rigorous five-month certificate course designed to meet legislative requirements for police officer training in New Mexico. This program aims to cultivate well-rounded law enforcement officers who are well-prepared to serve their communities effectively.
