Rockin’ the Streets Annual Bike Run This Saturday
DEMING – Rockin’ the Streets Annual Bike Run is set for this Saturday, September 14, 2024, and everyone is welcome to join—no bike required! The event will be held at the Fairgrounds in the small building, starting at 4 p.m. Plates of brisket, green enchiladas, beans, macaroni or potato salad, dinner rolls, chips, salsa, and chili con queso will be sold for $10, sponsored by Busy Bee Septic and La Fonda.
Rockin’ the Streets was founded in memory of Ramon A. Peña III, also known as MoMo, a kind-hearted young man who tragically passed away at 18. The nonprofit organization, started by MoMo’s family in 2009, hosts the annual bike run to raise funds for scholarships and to help children with medical expenses.
This year, 12 scholarships were awarded to local students from 82 applicants. All proceeds from the event support these efforts.
