Luna County Commission Meeting Scheduled for Thursday
DEMING – The Luna County Board of Commissioners will hold its regular session on Thursday morning at 10 a.m. on the third floor of the historic Luna County Courthouse. A work session will take place prior to the meeting, and both sessions are open to the public.
During the session, the Commission will recognize county employees for their years of service. Paul Sanchez will be honored for five years of work at the Luna County Detention Center, while Miguel Carreon will receive recognition for his 25 years of service at the same facility.
Luna County Sheriff Mike Eby is scheduled to present a proposal for salary increases to the Commission. In addition, elected officials will give their monthly reports on various county matters.
Commissioners are expected to vote on several key items, including the transfer of authorization for the local skate park equipment, specific road improvement projects, and updates to purchasing policies. County Manager Chris Brice will also provide his monthly report.
Following the public session, the Commission will meet in a closed executive session to discuss collective bargaining negotiations and the potential purchase or acquisition of real property.
