DEMING – The New Mexico Department of Transportation (NMDOT) highlighted the legacy of the Farias family in District One, whose commitment to public service spanned over two decades.
Miguel Farias began his career with NMDOT in 1998 as a laborer with both the Hatch and Las Cruces Patrols. Over the years, he advanced to become Staff Manager of the Deming Patrol, gaining valuable experience across Districts One and Two.
Inspired by their father’s dedication, Miguel’s eldest son, Jesus, joined the Chip Seal crew in 2014, followed by his youngest son, Raul, in 2019, working with both the Chip Seal and Heavy Maintenance crews.
The Farias family’s contributions exemplified the strong sense of commitment and opportunity that made NMDOT an outstanding workplace in District One.
