DEMING – New Mexico State Police officials have announced the successful disruption of a major trafficking ring near the southern New Mexico border.
The nine-day operation, conducted from October 16 to October 24, dismantled a network engaged in drug, firearm, and human trafficking. Coordinated efforts focused on high-crime areas, identified multiple stash houses, and included intensified patrols to break up organized criminal activity and increase local safety.
As a result, 297 migrants were transferred to Border Patrol, 11 vehicles used for smuggling were seized, and 13 stash houses were uncovered. The operation also led to the rescue of seven individuals in distress.
The New Mexico State Police collaborated with several agencies, including U.S. Border Patrol, Homeland Security, the Doña Ana County Sheriff’s Office, and El Paso Sheriff’s Office, underscoring a joint commitment to combatting criminal networks along the border and enhancing community security across the region.
