DEMING – New Mexico State Police used Automatic License Plate Recognition (ALPR) technology to arrest a driver involved in a fatal hit-and-run near Deming.
On November 23, officers responded to State Road 11, where 69-year-old Kevin O’Leary was found dead near his bicycle. The suspect fled the scene.
Crash debris identified the vehicle as a red Cadillac. ALPR data revealed the car crossed into Mexico at the Columbus Port of Entry.
The driver, 33-year-old Noel Ronquillo Jr., was arrested November 25 in Deming. He faces charges of involuntary manslaughter and leaving the scene of an accident.
