DEMING – U.S. Border Patrol agents, along with Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), uncovered a man-made cross-border tunnel from Mexico into the El Paso storm drain system on January 9.
The tunnel, about six feet tall and four feet wide, was equipped with lighting, ventilation, and wood bracing. Agents discovered it after removing a metal plate covering the tunnel’s entry.
El Paso Sector Chief Patrol Agent Anthony Scott Good praised the efforts of the agents, stating their relentless work ensures justice for those involved in illegal activities.
The investigation continues in collaboration with local and federal agencies, including the FBI and the Mexican government.
