Columbus and Puerto Palomas Leaders Plan Cross-Border Cooperation

DEMING – Columbus Mayor Philip Skinner met with officials in Puerto Palomas, Mexico, to finalize plans for an upcoming parade and coordinate hospitality for visiting dignitaries from the State of Mexico.

Skinner, who has emphasized unity and cooperation between the border communities, was welcomed at the Puerto Palomas Sectional Presidency, where discussions focused on strengthening ties and fostering regional development.

Local officials in Puerto Palomas expressed appreciation for Skinner’s visit, noting that the collaboration aims to enhance economic and cultural connections between the two towns. The 2024–2027 administration in Puerto Palomas described the meeting as an essential step in building a “young and humanistic government” that prioritizes cross-border relationships.
