Multiple Arrests Reported in Luna County

DEMING – The Luna County Detention Center has processed several recent arrests on charges ranging from DWI and drug possession to vehicle theft and a fugitive complaint, according to a media release from the facility.

Jesus David Lucero Ramirez, 23, was arrested by the Deming Police Department. He faces charges of unlawful taking of a motor vehicle and resisting, evading, or obstructing an officer.

Tommy Joe Lee, 48, listed as homeless, was arrested on Feb. 11th by Deming Police. He was charged with possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespass.

Carrie L. Howell, 35, was taken into custody on Feb. 11 by Deming Police. She faces charges of possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and criminal trespass.

Maria Muniz, 31, of Dallas, Texas, was arrested on a fugitive complaint and is being held at the detention center. She was booked by the Luna County Sheriff’s Office.

Diego Ray Montes, 24, was arrested and booked on pretrial status. Montes faces charges of DWI and reckless driving.

Kenyon Jovan Phillips, 26, of Austin, Texas, was also arrested and booked on pretrial status. He was charged with DWI and reckless driving.

Montes and Phillips were arrested by the New Mexico State Police, while Muniz was taken into custody by the Luna County Sheriff’s Office. All others were arrested by the Deming Police Department.

All persons in this report are to be considered innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
