DEMING – Construction is underway on the Memorial Stadium Lighting Project, an upgrade funded through the recently renewed bond for Deming Public Schools. The $630,870 project includes demolition, directional drilling, conduit installation, and the installation of new stadium lighting.
Deputy Superintendent Fred Parker told KDEM News that the new lights will not only improve visibility but will also be capable of syncing with music for special events. Construction began Tuesday and is expected to continue through Friday, March 28. Drivers should anticipate temporary road closures on Buckeye and Nickel streets, along with increased traffic and heavy equipment in the area.
Parker urged residents to exercise caution and follow all posted safety signs. He also expressed appreciation to local taxpayers and voters for making the project possible through the renewed bond.
