High Winds Prompt School Closure in Deming

DEMING – Students in the Deming School District will have the day off Thursday, March 6, as officials cite safety concerns related to forecasted high winds, limited visibility, and potential road closures.

Deputy Superintendent Fred Parker announced the closure, stating that the decision was made out of an abundance of caution. While schools will not be in session, instructional materials will be provided for remote learning. Elementary students will receive instructional packets, while secondary students will be assigned independent practice work from their teachers.

Classes are expected to resume on a regular schedule Friday, March 7. For more information, parents can contact their child’s school or the district office at (575) 546-8841.
