DEMING – A pediatric nurse in Albuquerque is facing serious criminal charges after investigators with the New Mexico Department of Justice arrested a man accused of possessing child pornography.
Authorities identified the suspect as Blade Rogers, who was taken into custody early Thursday morning following an investigation that began after a report was submitted by the messaging application Kik to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
According to court documents, prosecutors have filed a motion requesting that Rogers remain in custody pending trial. The filing referenced his employment in the pediatrics unit at Presbyterian Hospital in downtown Albuquerque at the time of the alleged offenses.
In a statement released following the arrest, Presbyterian Healthcare Services confirmed that Rogers is no longer employed by the hospital. Officials stated their priority is the safety of patients and staff and said they will cooperate fully with law enforcement as the investigation continues.
