DEMING – U.S. Representative Gabe Vasquez visited Deming last Monday to present Luna County with a $500,000 check to support law enforcement efforts.
The county plans to use these funds to purchase a new mobile command center vehicle. This command center will be instrumental in improving communication with officers in the field, as it will house dispatchers to ensure seamless coordination.
According to a report by Kiley Martinez in the *Deming Headlight*, Vasquez explained that the mobile command center can be used whenever law enforcement officers need to be on location with full communication capabilities.
Luna County Manager Chris Brice added that the next step is for the county commissioners to open the project for bidding. For more information, visit or call the Luna County Manager’s office.
