DEMING – The local school district has confirmed that a senior prank went too far, prompting an ongoing investigation. At this time, the district is refraining from making a full statement until the investigation is complete. The administration is meticulously reviewing video footage and conducting interviews with staff and students to gather all relevant information.
Superintendent Vicki Chavez told Deming Radio News, “While everyone should enjoy some fun during the stressful last days of school, humiliating someone or damaging property is never okay.”
The district has assured that, upon completion of the investigation, appropriate consequences will be administered if it is found that property was damaged or went missing, or if individuals were humiliated as a result of the prank. Further details will be shared as the investigation progresses.
