While we’d all love to be an Oscar Mayer wiener, these high school students achieved the next best thing.
According to KSNT, Seaman High School junior Breckan Andrews, of Topeka, Kansas, was hanging out with his friends when they spotted the famed Oscar Mayer Wienermobile driving around town.
“One of my buddies was like, ‘Can we rent this thing?'” Andrews says. “And I was like, ‘Well, what if we just ask about prom? What if they take us? It’s tomorrow. Like that’d be insane.'”
As insane as that idea might be, it turns out Oscar Mayer was up to the task.
“It was like a little light bulb,” says Wienermobile driver and Oscar Mayer brand spokesperson Maggie Dawson. “We were like, ‘Well, what time is prom?’ And from there, we checked our schedule, and we were able to make it happen.”
Thus, Andrews and his friends rode to prom in all the style an Oscar Mayer Wienermobile can mustard, er, muster.
“Hearing about prom, I mean, I have such special memories, like with my high school experience with my prom and knowing that we could add the weenie magic of the big dog to it,” Dawson says. “We figured it had to be done.”
