DEMING – Residents in southern Luna County are invited to celebrate Earth Day with a community gathering in Columbus aimed at promoting environmental pride and community engagement.
The Earth Day Celebration is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22, 2026, at 12 noon at Columbus Plaza. Organizers say the event will focus on encouraging residents to help create a cleaner, greener environment by reducing litter and taking pride in their town.
The celebration is open to the public and will feature community activities, engagement opportunities, and ways for families to learn how to make a positive difference locally. Special guests are expected to include New Mexico State Representative Jennifer Jones and Luna County Sheriff Raymundo “Ray” Eby.
Organizers also plan to provide free hot dogs at the plaza, and families are encouraged to attend and participate in the activities.
