Local No-kill Animal Shelter Receives Grant and Rescues Injured German Shepherd
DEMING – The Deming Animal Guardians recently received a generous $2,500 grant from the Robert Palmer Fund of the Southern M Community Foundation. This funding will help cover the costs of spaying and neutering the shelter’s animals, ensuring their health and well-being.
In other news, a German Shepherd named Sundance was found abandoned and injured in the desert. He had been shot and was discovered in an old building. The compassionate residents of Desert Vista RV Park transported Sundance to Deming Animal Clinic, where his severely damaged leg was amputated. Currently, Sundance is being fostered by a kind-hearted individual from the RV Park. The community has already raised over $400 to assist with his $800 veterinary bill. Sundance will soon be available for adoption through DAGSHIP Rescue, and we are incredibly grateful to the caring people at Desert Vista RV Park.
To further support our efforts, we are holding a raffle and encourage everyone to buy tickets. Tickets are available at DAGSHIP Rescue, Deming Animal Clinic, Silver Whiskers, Sunshine Grooming, Deming Arts Center, and High Desert Veterinary Care. The raffle will be drawn on September 28th at Silver Whiskers, with a grand prize of a Phillips 65-inch TV with Google TV.
Lastly, take a moment to enjoy a picture of one of their adopted rescue dogs enjoying summer in style with a new pair of shades.
