DEMING – State Police will be conducting sobriety checkpoints, saturation patrols, and registration, insurance, and driver’s license checkpoints in all New Mexico counties, including Luna County, throughout July 2024. This initiative aims to raise awareness and reduce impaired driving-related fatalities through ongoing media attention and intensive advertising.
These checkpoints are designed to shift society’s attitude towards driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. It is hoped that hundreds of lives could be saved each year if every driver makes the responsible choice not to drive impaired.
The checkpoints are part of the New Mexico State Police’s broader effort to ENDWI+ in New Mexico’s 33 counties.
