WNMU Deming and Gallup Campuses Expand with New Programs and Facilities
DEMING – Western New Mexico University (WNMU) is set to expand its Deming and Gallup campuses as the new academic year begins in August. In Deming, the university has opened the John Arthur and Janette Smith Educational Center on the city’s west side, which will house health science programs, including phlebotomy, nursing courses, and clinical rotations at local healthcare settings. The Mimbres Learning Center will continue offering general education, welding, electrical technology courses, and dual enrollment opportunities at Deming High School.
In Gallup, the WNMU Learning Center, established in 2023, focuses on bachelor’s programs in education to address the area’s high demand for teachers. The center employs three full-time faculty members, including a bilingual education instructor teaching in Navajo and English, and provides technological support for students lacking reliable internet access at home.
To register for courses at either campus, students can visit the WNMU website at wnmu.edu or contact the admissions office directly. Registration assistance is available in person at both the Deming and Gallup centers.
