SANTA FE — The New Mexico State Police have arrested a Tucumcari man in connection with an August drive-by shooting that left a commercial truck driver injured.
According to investigators, the incident occurred on August 20, 2025, when shots were fired from an eastbound vehicle along Tucumcari Boulevard. A bullet grazed the back of the neck of a commercial motor vehicle driver parked along the roadway.
Officers later located the suspect vehicle abandoned near a cemetery off Interstate 40, close to milepost 311. A search warrant on the vehicle led to the recovery of DNA evidence and spent shell casings. The registered owner initially reported the vehicle stolen; however, investigators determined the owner had been involved in the shooting and acted with an accomplice.
On November 6, officers served two residential search warrants related to the case, seizing ten firearms, including an AK-47, an AR-15, shotguns, and handguns.
The primary suspect, 20-year-old Dadrian Ysco of Tucumcari, was taken into custody without incident and booked into the Quay County Detention Center. Ysco is charged with aggravated battery with a deadly weapon, negligent use of a deadly weapon, criminal damage to property, shooting at or from a motor vehicle, and making a false report.
The investigation remains ongoing.
