Possible Hit-and-Run Injures Bicyclist
DEMING – Las Cruces police are investigating a suspected hit-and-run crash that critically injured a bicyclist early Tuesday morning. Shortly before 5 a.m. on July 23, police and fire crews were dispatched to the corner of Amador Avenue and Motel Boulevard, near the TA Travel Center. A passerby found a 59-year-old man lying on the roadway with a bicycle nearby.
The man, suffering from head trauma and unconscious, was initially transported to a local hospital before being taken to University Medical Center of El Paso, where he remains in critical condition.
Currently, investigators are uncertain about the circumstances that led to the man’s injuries. Authorities are appealing to the public for any information that could aid in the investigation. Those with information are urged to contact police at (575) 526-0795
